I’ve been trying to go see my nephew for the last few days, but it never seems to work out. I was supposed to go on Sunday, but my brother and family weren’t home in the morning, and we were at Holly’s parent’s all evening. Then I wanted to go last night when Holly got home, but after reading numerous updates about how little sleep the new parents have been getting I was hesitant to call for fear of waking anyone up.
Possibly tonight I will have a chance, but we’ll see. My brother has an interview in the evening with some union or something, but I’m hoping afterwards he’ll have time for us to visit. I know he’s dying to see the UFC from the past weekend (which I have) so perhaps I can bribe him.
I also need to give him the M.F. Loomis model I made for him. I want to make some changes, and my brother had a few requests so I will spend a few minutes this afternoon fixing it.
Above is a new X-family portrait.
I really wish I had a rapid-prototyper.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: the newest member of the Cobra Clan – Mighty Felix Loomis Clark. He was born July 1st shortly before 7am. He was 9lbs 4.2 ounces and is already almost two feet tall!! At that rate, I estimate his height at age 16 to be around 9′.
He’s got a sweet mohawk, and apparently loves boobs. There is no question regarding his authenticity as a cobra.
Expect more to come, but for now this will have to do as someone has come home and found her Marilyn Monroe picture smashed by a clumsy cobra who needs to go make it up to her somehow.
Thursday was Canada Day so Holly had the day off. We woke up early, after recieving news of my nephew’s safe arrival and decided to go check out the Friendship Festival since we weren’t allowed to visit before 2pm. I hadn’t been since I was probably 15 (I believe Rusty was headlining) and wasn’t sure what to expect. I sort of figured it would suck but I tend to have that attitude about lots of things so I kept quiet.
I was right. It was even worse than I expected. We walked a lap around the whole thing, and the only point of interest was a STIHL booth where they were holding lumberjack contests. They had lots of chainsaws, some large handsaws, and a mini pool for log rolling. Unfortunately the competitions didn’t start until 2pm, so we didn’t get to see any. I was more excited to go meet my mighty nephew anyway, and I guarantee no one parties like Gabriolans party on Canada Day.
Above is a photo of the best thing at the friendship festival – Holly. Nothing compares to her. She can make me love every second of the most boring place on the planet. I am very lucky and completely undeserving. <3
